Montegomery County Blues

I know it's been a long time

And I've been down on my luck

And I've been working

Trying to make a buck

But tonight we're together

I want to stay out late

I want to shake it up

Gravel in my blood

Tornado in my head

Snake in the cellar

Mosquito in my bed

Blue Dog is in the meadow

And the wild geese

Are in the shed

Ashes to ashes and dust to dust

I can see your face a-shining

As the daylight turns to dusk

Well, the river is still turning

But now the sunset looks like rust
