New Album for 2011 on the way! - May 11, 2011
Been a while since I've chimed in here, but it seemed like a good time to let you all know what we've (the band) been up to. Went to the brand new studio in Lincoln, Ne - Fuse Recording, a couple weeks ago with the full band with producer/engineer Charlie Johnson (Mezcal Bros) and recorded our new album set to be released in July. I can't mention many other details at this point but there is a CD Release party set for Sunday, July 3rd at the Waiting room in Omaha, NE. The experience was incredibly smooth and the band was loose and on their game. Can't wait for everyone to here it (including myself). Stay tuned for more info coming soon. If I get them soon enough there may be pre-sale copies available online before the Release Party. Best wishes, MC

If you haven't made it out you still have a chance! 9-12pm, NO COVER! Cheap drinks and pizza-by-the-slice! Hoping to get the band out on the road a bit hit the studio later in the summer. In the meantime - lots of fun summer shows coming up and possibly another solo release in the works.
That's all for now.

OEA Nominations - November 5, 2009
Seems like I'm up for a few awards this year. I've been nominated for 2009 Blues Artist of the Year, Folk/Roots/Americana Artist of the Year, and my most recent album My Last Dollar has been nominated for Album of the Year!
"My Last Dollar" CD Release Party - March 11, 2009
Friday, March 27th @ The Waiting Room, Omaha, NE - with special guests The Filter Kings and The Black Squirrels! 12 new tracks from all over the map. MY LAST DOLLAR features some of areas finest musicians including Josh Krohn (fiddle, Southpaw Bluegrass Band), Kat Smith (vocals, The Black Squirrels), Nick Semrad (piano, Little Black Stereo), Kirk Webb (mandolin, Skinny & The Bootleggers), Ben Zinn (guitar, Satchel Grande), Matt Arbeiter (drums, Midwest Dilemma), and Seth Ondracek (bass, Lizard King).
Mastered at Focus Mastering, Omaha, NE by the brilliant Doug Van Sloan, I feel the new album is a good representation of my many influences and live performances. From full band to solo acoustic. There's a little something for everyone. You should be able to listen to a few cuts right here on my website if i was savvy enough to upload the songs the right way. Well, I hope to see you soon. Thanks for stopping.
Rapping up summer '08 - August 25, 2008
Well, it's been fun, after a long trip through the south earlier this spring, a trip to Shaboygen, WI and Lake Michigan with fellow Omaha songwriter Brad Hoshaw, another round at the Bluebird in Nashville on the long drive home from Florida, numerous campfires, and about 1000 mosquito bites later - the summer is now coming to an end. This does mean, however, the beginning of Fall, my personal favorite of the midwest seasons. I don't know if any of that is actual news, but what I can inform you of, is the new band I'm now performing with! Playing more originals than ever and with a bigger country-rock sound. Fellow members include bassist Seth Ondracek (The Wholes), Ben Zinn (Satchel Grande, Paper Owls) on electric guitars, and Todd Roberson (St. Elvis) on drums. I've been blown away by each members level of input and talent they bring to the stage and all around musicianship. Here are just a few of the several places you can catch the whole lineup this fall. Be sure to check the calendar for additional information and dates.
9.3.08 - Slowdown, Omaha, NE
9.6.08 - Goofy Foot Lodge, Omaha, NE
9.11.08 - Zoo Bar, Lincoln, NE
9.12.08 - Barley Street Tavern, Omaha, NE
9.13.08 - Soaring Wings Vineyard, Springfield, NE
9.14.08 - Barfly - Omaha, NE
9.20.08 - Sugar Clay Winery, Thurman, IA
9.26.08 - Mick's Music & Bar, Omaha, NE
Also, stay tuned for my new record "My Last Dollar." Coming soon!!
Preparing for 2008 - January 13, 2008
Kicking the year off with shows in St. Joseph, Wichita, and Omaha. Then Gittin' ready for a southern spring. Lookout Austin! Check the calendar for show updates. Also, a new album in the midst? That's right - more to come on that SOON! Keep warm, only 68 more days of cold noses, long johns, and widshield scrapers! The Holidays have come and gone. Time to sober up and try to sort your life out according to the new year. Good luck out there!
